Dan York, CISSP, LPIC, MCSE, CTT+
A storyteller. My goal with my writing, speaking, podcasting, etc is to tell the story of all the changes that are going on all around us in both the way we communicate and also the tools we use to communicate. I weave the threads of that larger story through my various weblogs and podcasts:
How well I tell that story is something you will have to judge. My goal is to help
I've been using computers since the first Apple II in 1978 and since then have worked with a very wide range of computers, operating systems, programming languages and applications. I entered into the online world in the mid-1980s with BBSs, BITNET and early Internet and have been involved with building online communities and efforts ever since. I've been blogging since 2000 and podcasting since 2005. I am also a father. A husband. A son. A brother. A lover of the outdoors. A curler. A hiker. A kayaker. A bicyclist. A skier. A snowshoer. A voracious reader. A German speaker. A wood turner. A lover of art and theatre and music. A poet. A follower of politics. A realistic idealist. A skeptical optimist. All of these are part and parcel of who I am. I am employed as a Senior Content Strategist for the Internet Society, serve on the board of the global Voice Over IP Security Alliance (VOIPSA) and am involved in a number of other activities that I mention from time to time in my writing. You can also find me on LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+ and pretty much most other social networking site.. I am Dan York. Welcome to one part of my story.... P.S.
